RBL Swatches!

Time for swatches!
Holy cow... I've been gone for so long! But I'm back. And I swatched for 2 hours this morning to get these done for you all :) The formula of them all is very runny (compared to OPI) but goes on great! They weren't streaky at all! Here are my 8 Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes:

Scrangie
Gorgeous! This is the only shimmer polish that I ordered from RBL. It is part of the "Blogger Writer's" collection. A purple with tiny green (maybe turquoise) sparkles. I'm sure glad I ordered it when I did because it's not currently available on the website. This is 3 coats.

Dead Calm
This polish went on in 1 coat. This will be my go-to polish when I'm in a hurry and need to paint my nails! It is a dark, dark blue.

Teal
Hmmm? Hard to explain. I'd say RBL "Teal" is to the color teal as the color navy is to the color blue. Did you get that? Haha. That statement just reminded me of those dumb standardized tests we had to take in elementary school. Anyways, if "Teal" is actually teal, it is a VERY dark teal. This was 2 coats.

No More War
You either love it, or you hate it. I, in fact, love it :) As you can see, it is an olive green. Totally unique. This was 2 coats.

Recycle
Another one that I love. I don't think I've ever seen a green that I didn't like, though. This is a true green creme. Again, 2 coats.

Chinoise
Wow this color is bright! Yes, it is just a red... but it is so vibrant! This picture doesn't do this polish any justice. You really need to see Chinoise in person! This is 2 coats.

Drifter
I looooooooove Drifter. I would call this a "wine" red. A dark, plumy, burgundy-ish red. Another 2 coater :)

Frugalista
After I applied the first coat, I thought "There's no way I'm going to get this glitter to completely cover my nail"... Well, I did! This is actually 4 coats but 3 would have been sufficient. My camera really picked up on the bare spots so I added a 4th coat to make my nails photograph better. However, to the plain eye, 3 coats was plenty of polish! Here is a shot in the sun...
I wish you could see how much it shines. It is almost blinding! I wasn't sure I wanted a glitter polish when I was choosing the colors for my order. I'm glad I got it... I'm really happy with the glitter. I'm happy with ALL of my Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes! They are amazing... and didn't even need a topcoat!

Christmas Candy Canes

OPI Alpine Snow & Ulta-mate Berry Beautiful
Konad M12 (Candy cane), M14 (Lollipop), & M59 (Bow)
Good day! I finally finished up this manicure which I started Friday (I think)... I find it quite adorable! (Except the thumb. It's too busy. I kinda hate it) There's a bow on every nail! I bet this would be cute with pink!

By the way, I'm posting pictures for each step to show you how much of a difference each element adds to the design :)
I painted 3 nails in white (OPI Alpine Snow) and 1 nail in red (OPI Ulta-mate Berry Beautiful) to mix things up a little! I stamped the bow (with Konad Special Polish) on an angle so it would fit on my nail. To make the other designs cohesive, they were stamped on an angle as well. I didn't want my nails to be monotonous so I used 2 different candy stamps. After the stamping, I added a red tip to the white nails.
And to finish off the manicure, I painted the silver stripe with a Stripe Rite.
I hope you all enjoy it!

Rescue Beauty Lounge

Yay! They arrived today!
In order: Chinoise, Drifter, Frugalista, Scrangie, Dead Calm, Teal, Recycle, No More War

I can't wait to try them out! I've read so many good things about Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes. Unfortunately, I just painted my nails so they will have to wait.

Nfu Oh #118

Nfu Oh #118
I managed to get my nails painted last night so I've been photographing them for you today in the sunlight. It's another Nfu Oh!
This is 3 coats of #118 and 1 coat of Seche Vite to make it extra glossy! #118 is a deep blue. In the bottle it has noticeable specks of purple, but on the nail you can't really see them.
I've never had a problem with the application of Nfu Oh's shimmer polishes. This one, like my others, went on great.

Nfu Ohs...

A couple pictures of my stash...
Sorry. No swatches today. It's my day off of work but I've been very busy. First, I had to buy some Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes! (And by "some", I mean 8!) Then, I had to go get my H1N1 vaccination. After that, I left town to catch up on some Christmas shopping. And now, all I want to do is relax! Maybe watch TV...? So, in place of painted nails, I give you: a picture of a bunch of bottles! Haha sorry it's not very exciting, but aren't they just adorable!? Like rows of little mannequins! Again, I love my Nfu Ohs :)

Jack Frost Nipping at my Fingernails!

Nfu Oh #67 & M60
I wasn't ready to remove the silver Nfu Oh from yesterday so I stamped over it.
I stamped the argyle pattern from Konad image plate M60 in white special polish. Since I had to trim my nails, they are the perfect length for the full nail designs. I might as well get as many of them used while my nails are still short enough!
I thought I really liked my nails yesterday... now that I stamped on them, I LOVE them! I've gotten so many compliments as well!
These are great nails for winter. They are so frosty looking! And another plus: they don't make my hands look pale :)

Nfu Oh #67

Nfu Oh #67
It's silver, it's foil, and it's awesome!
I can't stop looking at my fing'ns today, guys! They are so reflective! Sorry for the pictures. I'm at work and there is a serious lack of props. I couldn't wait until I got home to show you all...
Oh yah, this is 3 coats. It was really easy to apply. I love Nfu Oh.
P.S. It reminds me of Joanna Krupa's (from Dancing With The Stars) costume for her and Derek's futuristic paso doble. I loved that dance...

Don't eat yellow snow.

Okay... so what about pink snow?
I wanted to do another winter themed manicure but I'm sick of all the blues, greens, reds, etc. I wanted to wear pink!
OPI Mod About You
I stamped some snowflakes in silver and then some in white. You'd think I would have learned my lesson when I stamped silver on top of light blue... You can't even see it! It does add a little bit of shimmer to the design, I guess.
I'd have to say that I really like this manicure for its discreteness.
How do you feel about it?

If I were an Elf...

China Glaze Emerald Sparkle, OPI Dazzled By Gold, & Silver Stripe Rite
I know this isn't THAT exciting but I just couldn't remove Emerald Sparkle without trying something on top of it! I wasn't in the mood for Konading so I decided to add gold and silver tips to it. I think if elves painted their nails, they'd paint them like this:
I painted on OPI Dazzled By Gold. Is it just me or have OPI's golds, lately, been smelling like burnt plastic?? And by golds I mean "Dazzled By Gold" and "DS Glow". The smell is almost bad enough to make me gag!
After the gold, I finished my tips with a Stripe Rite polish in silver.
There is no top coat. I don't have much patience tonight. I couldn't even wait long enough for the silver to flatten out! Hope you like it anyway!

More Temptation

Remember me telling you about my guilt for the un-OPI nail polish purchases I had made? Well, here is the other half of the reason why I felt bad that day... because I bought some China Glaze polishes too! These I love though!
Ruby Pumps & Emerald Sparkle
If you don't have these, I suggest you get them. They are gorgeous and packed with glitter. I pictured the bottles with Seche Vite because it is CRUCIAL that you use a super glossy top coat! When the China Glazes dry, they are a little flat/matte. The Seche Vite helps the glitter shine!
My pictures don't quite capture the beauty of these polishes. You should check out Scrangie's swatches. I like hers better. I wonder what kind of camera she uses...?

Visions of Sugarplums & M62

OPI Visions of Sugarplums (exclusive to ULTA) & Konad M62
To let you all know: I was not creative enough to turn the "tips plate" designs vertically. I saw this at Emerald Sparkled blog here... Check her out. She's got great ideas!

Onto my manicure... Here is OPI's Visions of Sugarplums. A very sparkly, deep purple:
I stamped from Konad image plate M62 in silver special polish, applied Konad topcoat, and while it was still wet, stuck rhinestones in the center of the bursts.
To add more bling: my bedroom chandelier as a background :) Yah, a little over-the-top but it makes my tiny room seem so much better!
Oh yah, I do have a purple wall. Just one. Don't want to get carried away ;)
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you liked it. I'm really loving this one!
