OPI "Coney Island Cotton Candy & Nfu Oh GS01
I'm down to nubs right now ;) My middle fingernail became victim to my car door! I swear, most of my breaks are due to the car. I should just trade it in!Since I'm kind of in shock by how short my nails are, and because I don't want to draw attention to them, I decided to paint them with the new color I got for french manicures: "Coney Island Cotton Candy". I wasn't in the mood for white tips but I needed something because I wasn't thrilled with the odd, uneven, visible nail line... soooo I added a bit of glitter (Nfu Oh GS01) at the bottom of my nail!
I'm enjoying this manicure a lot more than I had imagined. I think mostly due to that glitter! I'll tell you what, Nfu Oh has some great glitters! I've got GS01 & GS09 and they are amazing! I love how small the particles are. They're easy to work with, easy to remove, and do I really need to say it? Gorgeous!
I actually think this could pass for a work-appropriate manicure.
What do you think?
Thanks for reading! :)
Cute! Simple but classy, definately wearable :)
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so pretty! Definitely work appropriate, since the glitter isn't all over and isn't very contrast-y.
ReplyDeletefabulous!
ReplyDeleteCute and simple :o)
ReplyDeleteLooks totally work-appropriate! And it's a great idea - I have lots of glitters that don't get used enough.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love the glitter-as-french-tips effect! Gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it to glittery bits. This I must do. Your nails and hands look beautiful/immaculate.
ReplyDeleteSimple and pretty! Yea for glitter - glitter makes everything better. Kinda like bacon. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the understated glitz!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all of the nice comments! I've been wearing these for a couple days now. I REALLY like them! This color makes my hands look tan and I feel like there is fairy dust sprinkled all over my fingertips :) Thanks for stopping by!!
ReplyDeleteMegan- That's hilarious! But true. Bacon is awesome! LOL
Really beautiful, I think I have to try this out soon. Fits you perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThese are so clean and sweet looking!
ReplyDeleteYour manicures are always inspiring me to try new things. I rarely go with "normal" colors but this is a great way to use them. I love the glitter on the tips.
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful. Horrid when you get a break but at least with your beautiful nails they are just shorter versions of your usual lovely nails and not in anyway unattractive.
ReplyDeleteLaLadyBunny- Thank you! It really is "me"... I don't want to remove it but it is starting to wear at the edges. I've had this manicure on for a few days now...
ReplyDeleteABOP- Yes! I agree! I love this manicure :)
Debbie- Aww thanks :) I don't mind the short nails that much... it is just hard to get them to look even though.
That so cute. It's a good way to wear glitter without looking like a disco ball.
ReplyDeleteNot that there's anything wrong with looking like a disco ball, of course.
Oh, and sympathies on the break. I busted two in the car door last night and I was sooooo mad.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! I'll definitely have to try something similar :)
ReplyDeleteLovely mani. It is definitely work appropriate.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! <3
ReplyDeleteAre Nfu Oh's glitters smooth or bumpy?
ReplyDeleteJennifer- Haha... Yah this definitely isn't like a disco ball. It's a very classy "bling" manicure :)
ReplyDeleteSara- Thanks! Me too :)
Cel- Thank you!
Tassa- Thanks :)
Anonymous- This particular glitter is not bumpy. Neither is GS09 because they have tiny glitter particles. However, I think the black of the "glitter series" polishes is bumpy. I'm sure it'd smooth out with a couple coats of Seche Vite though!
Great work-wearable mani! I just noticed my thumb nail tore it's so depressing when that happens =( NOO!
ReplyDeleteDefinatley work appropriate! This is so stunning. Did you do the glitter with a sponge? I've not tried the sponge trick yet.
ReplyDeleteFreshie- Oh no! I used to get that A LOT! And by a lot I mean like every week. A tear would start and then the next week it'd be on the other thumb and the week after that it'd switch back and form on the OTHER SIDE of my already torn thumb!! Once I started filing the sides of my nails, the tearing stopped :)
ReplyDeleteTilly- Nope, I applied it in 2 coats. First just at the tips and then another coat covering a little bit more than just the tips!
Pretty! Like it! I mentioned you again on my bloggie, I found that Selfridges in London stock OPI Bx
ReplyDeleteI went short for awhile too,and found wearing something sheer is the best way to go too.
ReplyDeletelove it! you inspired me to add glitter tips to my lilac manicure :)
ReplyDeleteBlighty- You found some OPI? Awesome! I'm an OPI fanatic as you can tell! :) Thanks for letting me know you mentioned me. I'll have to go check it out! :)
ReplyDeleteStarlight- Yes, at least to get over the initial shock that there are no longer long pretty nails to stare at... I just put some color on (I'm working on my challenge entry) and I think I'm okay with it already! :)
Lydia- Awesome! I loved the glitter! I wish I had added a bit more!
Your nails still look awesome even when short. Still jealous :P Love the mani too. Subtle yet sparkly. I'd rock this at the office.
ReplyDeleteThis is totally work appropriate, but then again I am the wrong person to ask because I go to work with all sorts of crazy things on my nails... For instance recently did the Minions from Dispicable Me.
ReplyDeleteI really need to know a place to buy Nfu Of... Is there somewhere online you get them? I cant find it in any stores around me....
I absolutely love this! Cute and classy.
