NOX twilight "Debutante"
Well, I have to admit... I thought for sure that this polish would be sheer and hard to build, but it wasn't! What is up with all of these assumptions of mine?? You know what assuming does...
I think this is a fine shade but definitely not "me". Personally, I like dark colors and/or creme polishes. They make my nails look longer. This polish has neither of them going for it...
This was 3 coats of "Debutante". It is a duochrome polish that shifts from a pinkish-mauve to shimmery gold in the light. It reminds me of a color my mom would wear. LOL [No offense Mom]... Online this polish is described as a "fresh peachy-pink"...
Outdoor shot...
And if you were wondering about how it compares with another polish of this type, here a photo of OPI "Significant Other Color" vs. NOX twilight "Debutante". As you can see, "SOC" is more purple and has a green shimmer (also much more sheer), while "Debutante" is mauve-ish with golden shimmer:
And that's all I've got for you today! This also concludes my collection of NOX twilight polishes! Hope you enjoyed them :)
(This product sample was sent to me for consideration)
i am a sucker for these kind of polishes! i buy them and never wear them. cause i hate pink or anything that blends into my skin... but i have around 6 variations...
ReplyDeleteI just got this today and haven't tried it yet. It looked sort of duo chrome in the bottle and it does a little on you as well. I understand if you prefer darker shades, nothing wrong with that! But it's beautiful :)
ReplyDeletejbrobeck- LOL... I do that too :) But I try to buy every possible color under the sun even though I won't wear some of them... Like OPI "Bronzed To Perfection". Probably the ugliest color I have. I've tried to wear it twice now and I just can't. I had to remove it right away.
ReplyDeleteMary- Yes, it is pretty! With polishes like these though, I feel like they never look crisp and clean. I hate the brush strokes!
Hello, duochrome! This is super pretty...I can't believe that's only three coats!
ReplyDeleteAurora- Yah! If I remember correctly, 2 was good enough but I put on a 3rd coat just to make sure it looked good for the photos!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see this over black :)
ReplyDeleteAllYouDesire- Check out my entry for my Vampire Challenge! I used it over a very vampy red. It pretty much just looks gold! Pretty though!
ReplyDeletePretty but it does say "old lady". Not so much on you but it would look terrible on me.
ReplyDeleteJaljen- That's kind of how it felt. EXCEPT in low lighting... then the mauve blends in with my skintone and the gold shimmers GLOW like crazy!
ReplyDeleteI think the colour is stunning, I have loved all of your swatches of these twilight colours. I would love to get some. Poisedon stays in my mind as my fave.
ReplyDeletegorgeous! I regret not getting this... =)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great color! It's surprising how opaque that is - usually colors like that need a billion coats to eliminate VNL.
ReplyDeletetoo funny! I was reading your comments and when you said this color is not you I thought "I love it, send it to me" and then I read on to see your comment about how it reminded you of something your mother would wear! You are right! I would wear it so you can send it to me :)
ReplyDeleteAlso if you don't like the colors itself, I think it fits perfectly to your skintone.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad I can't get these... "no international shipping" buhhhhh =/
Wowza! This is HOT! I totally get you what you mean. It's a wonderful color, but I wouldn't be too comfortable wearing it either. I think Poseidon and Sangria are my favorite from the NOX polishes you featured (they're something I'd wear). They're all beautiful shades though (except for Wine & Dine, I don't care for that one too much). =)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you got new followers because of me. If it *is* true, than you've deserved them. =) Love your posts although I don't comment that often. Keep rocking! :*
Tilly- I think Sugar Plum is my favorite!... but Poseidon IS a great color!
ReplyDeleteTrincess- Don't regret it! This is kind of a "blah" color, in my opinion!
Megan- Oh, I know! I was just certain it'd never be opaque... I was wrong!
Mom- You are goofy:) You can try it the next time you are in Iowa!
LaLadyBunny- Maybe. It's a little too pink though. Makes my hands look weird... I think you can order them online from Simple Beauty?
Nihrida- LOL I wasn't really a fan of Wine&Dine either... that champagne foil is just not my type of color. About the new readers, yes, I definitely did get more! I think I was at 763 and now I'm at 780! It's very exciting! Thanks again :) P.S. Glad you like my posts! I love your blog too and I make sure to check it out everyday!!
how do you get such a perfect black background on your first few photos?? i just got this polish and i wasn't sure i was going to like it. now i think i will like it after seeing these swatches :)
ReplyDeleteWhere can I find these in the US?
ReplyDeleteKellie- I use black felt and photograph several inches away from it... so then (while in macro mode) my camera will focus on my nails and not pick up on any details of the material, giving me a perfectly smooth background! :)
ReplyDeleteJackie- As far as I know, on Twilight Beauty online. Not sure if they are sold in any stores... :)
Hi, I was wondering if you'll be featuring Talon from this Nox Twilight line?
ReplyDeleteKJ- Nope! I've showed you all that I have! :)
ReplyDelete@ PH- Thanks :)
