Hearts and a Bow (Valentine)

This is another very simple Valentine's Day manicure. I stamped in hot pink which is a very hard color to capture. The color on the left side of my nails is more accurate than on the right. For some reason, it looks like I did gradient stamping.

Base: OPI Mod About You
Background Stamp: M79 in White (Konad Special Polish)
Hearts & Bow: M59 in Psyche Hot Pink ((Konad Special Polish)

The reason I chose these specific stamps (background design & hearts/bow) is because they both have circles incorporated into their design. I think they complement each other :)

Hand shot. The pink looks purple. Sorry. I couldn't find a way to fix it.

  2. Thank you, Brooke! The colors make it kind of "little girl"-y... but it is fun and very bright! :)

  3. We can all use a "little girl" design sometimes, I love it....thinking about what it would look like in purples!!!!

  4. Oh wow! I am wearing grey creme at the moment and feeling very "cool" then I saw all your valentine posts and my nails seem so boring in comparison! Your nails btw are gorge - I love the length, I generally keep mine a similar length as they peel like nothing on earth. You are also incredibly creative - love the layered stamping and the matte "sweetie" mani, how clever!

  5. Yardsticks 4 lunatics- Oh I bet this would look cool in purple! Thanks for commenting :)

Debbie- Gray IS cool! I actually just applied OPI Brand New Skates (a gray with gold shimmers)... I love the Valentine looks but I need something neutral to wear for a couple days! BTW my nails have been peeling a lot too! I think it is this dry winter weather.

Gildedangel- Thanks! Glad you like this manicure!

    Lily nail- Thank you :)

  6. I love this! I am a new subscriber and I am really enjoying your blog! Question for you, do you find Mod About You difficult to work with? I have a bottle from ebay and it is streaky, thick and chips really quickly. Is it old, or is it just the formula. XO Ashley

  7. Ashley- Thank you! For your question, no I don't think Mod About You is hard to work with. I think I used 2 coats for this manicure. If it is thick, you might want to consider using some lacquer thinner on it. I have some called "Restore" by Seche Vite. It works really well. Also, I don't think the age of polish matters... I've got a bottle of OPI that I got years ago and it goes on just as well as any of the others. If your application is streaky you can try using lighter brush strokes (don't push the brush down on your nails... just swipe it gently across to spread the polish). I don't know why it would chip so bad. Maybe because it isn't sticking? Make sure you clean the oils (from lotion, etc.) off your nails before you polish. I hope that information will help you a little!
