OPI (Swiss) - Diva of Geneva

OPI 26 comments

OPI "Diva Of Geneva"

What It Is

A deep magenta shimmer. My favorite thing about this polish is how it reflects light. The edges of my nails are very dark, while the centers seem to glow. This is a perfect shade for Fall. Part of OPI's (Fall/Winter 2010) Swiss collection!

Application

"Diva of Geneva" took only 2 coats to become fully opaque. I remembered to wrap my tips early so it didn't need an extra layer! :) Another thing to note: This polish applies darker than it appears in the bottle, which looks kind of light & dusty.
If you are thinking this is a dupe for OPI "Queen of West Web-erly", it's not. They are very similar but "Diva of Geneva"s color is much more saturated.

Danny- "Queen of West Web-erly" used to be one of my favorites... this takes its place, for sure! I can't believe I waited so long to try it (I've had it since it first came out). Looks so much better on the nails than in the bottle!!

I LOVE this one!! I find the "lighter in the bottle" thing with a lot of OPIs. If I could wear this one for every other mani, I'd be good with it. LOL

I have this and absolutely love it. It really is much better on the nail than in the bottle.

Megan- Yah me too! Great color, huh! So bold! I love it :)

Sarah B- That's what I'm thinking! I've just now worn it! And I've had it for, what, a couple months now??

Lola- It is! You still have time to get it! Before it's too late!

Anita- Yah, I'm definitely going to have to start actually wearing this one... Today is the first day and I love it!!

Janellarella- I paint the very edge of my nails ("wrap the tips") so I get better wear with my nail polish. Here is a better explanation: http://www.alllacqueredup.com/2010/06/manicure-trick-wrap-tips.html
Hope that helps!! :)... Usually I forget to do it so I have to add another layer of polish even though my manicure would have been perfect otherwise!

Oh my, it looks great on you ! Congrats.
I loved it on the bottle so I bought it but once on my nais I was all the more dispointed that I had great expectations for it, it fell flat.
    I'm so jealous, lol.
    xoxo.

I felt in love! But I don't like OPIs, cause of their formula. I have three, and just one of them is good and it's from the designers series. I think about trying another OPI, but I'm still not sure, but after your spot I'm quite sure what I'm going to buy :D

wow, not only is this polish a pretty color, but your nails look they're in PERFECT condition. But, then again .. they always look so perfect that I might just accuse you of photoshopping them. ;) j/k

Linda- As of now, I don't see myself hosting the challenges anytime soon. They are so much work and I barely have time to post regularly :(

Kellie- LOL. I don't Photoshop (I love how that is used as a verb) my nails. Skin, yes... but that's obvious. Little cracks and wrinkles are distracting! :) There you go. My secret is out! :)

I bought this polish recently as was inspired by this post, and I am not disappointed, a lovely colour and superior polish, so thank you, and my love of polish continues, unabated. Do you get Nails Inc and Barry M polishes in your part of the world? They are quite good too! bx

Blighty- :) Yes, this is a great polish!... I've never seen any Nails Inc or Barry polishes around here. Maybe I just have not been in the right places? Thanks for commenting!

After seeing your post I knew I hade to have this polish! I couldn't find it at any nail salons so I ordered it online. This will be my first OPI polish, I'm so excited because this color is giving me a nailgasm, lol.
