Tie-up Lace (Valentine's Manicure)

Konad Nail Art, OPI 30 comments

I really love these nails! They are so cool! From a distance you just see the contrast of the red bow on the light pink nails... but as you get closer you see the white lace print.

Base: Italian Love Affair
Lace Print: Konad M71
Bow: Konad M7

Here is just one stamped nail if you want a more subtle look (However, I don't find them overwhelming when all are stamped)
Trick: This made stamping so much faster for me. I used eyeliner to draw marks near my nails for lining up the Konad image. Otherwise, I'd have to visually decide "Ok, I need space for the bow, for the first lace stamp, etc"...
And since some of you enjoyed my last photo of Pete, I thought I'd show you his unique coloring. The pattern in his fur reminds me of a turtle!
Posts that inspired this look: Nihrida's "Lace Up" and Polish and Powder's "Konad M7..."!
Be sure to check them out!

    Very pretty mani!
I believe Pete's coloring is called tortise. He is so pretty!

Love the Mani, another reason to buy that disk! Your cat is beautiful...do you know what breed?

Serena_Nuvola-Thank you! I believe Pete is neutered... but I don't blame his weight on that. He just loves to eat! Anything! He even eats bananas! Haha

Leanne- Thanks so much! I love this manicure in person even more than in the pictures!

    PerryPie- Thanks! :)

Evil Angel- Haha! Well that makes sense why I thought that then!

Elizabeth- I have no idea what Pete "is"... but Evil Angel just commented that she thought his coloring is called "Tortise"... ?

    Thank you all again!!

Very sweet looking! Yes, I like all the nails stamped too. Pete is soooo cute. His fur patterns do look like a turtle shell. I love cats. I have two,an orange tabby, and a solid gray.

This is one of the most beautiful pastel Vday manis I've seen to date! LOVE layered stamping!!!

Awesome that you left credit for inspiration. :D
    Now that I've said that...
I've used a mirror in photographing my latest mani. Do you know if it's just your blog that uses this prop/tool or is there another that I got the idea from? I want to edit my post and do my part in keeping the "circle of appreciation" tight!

Velvet- I don't know what it is about nail polish bloggers and cats but it seems like most of us like them! I'm much more of a cat person than a dog person!

ainos2- Yes! I saw your last post! It was very pretty :) I love layered stamping too! I find it quite difficult though... Nihrida's post really helped me on this one! AND I love Polish and Powder's idea of pulling the 2 colors together with the bow! Oh and yes, it was my idea to use the mirror for displaying my nails. I couldn't think of a neat/unique way to show my nails with the polish bottle so I ditched that and chose a mirrored image to fill the space in the bottom of my pictures :) If I want to show my thumbnail (like in my previous post) then obviously, I can't use the mirror. But in all of my other swatches I do! Thanks for liking :)

    Lacquermanic- Thank you so much!

Steph- Oh that's so nice of you to say :) Thank you!

I really like your manicure! There's a LOT of valentine's day manicures all over the net, but only this one really caught my attention so far. Inspired partially by me? Well, thank you!
Pete is adorable. I wanna scratch his belly.

So much fun for Valentine's Day. I love the Italian Love Affair! It's a really interesting pink- not too blue. Pete is a gorgeous cat! He looks really soft!

    Gildedangel- Thanks! :)

Nihrida- Glad you like it and thanks for the inspiration!... Haha. Pete is a little heavy so his belly is kind of jiggly!

ReaderRita- Italian Love Affair might be my favorite light pink! It reminds me of taffy! Oh and Pete is SUPER soft! Especially for being a short haired cat.

A tortoise kitty is orange, brown and black...and female! A male tortie is a rare and valuable creature that would be one of the few you wouldn't want to nueter.

Love the lace. Reminds me of a corset, perfect for V-day. A black base color would be racy if you leaned that way. lol
