I was totally under the impression that this was a soft, pastel yellow. No! This is a bold, in-your-face yellow! It dries darker than it appears in the bottle. The color is pretty saturated, like OPI "The It Color" but they are in no way duplicates. "The It Color" is much more golden. Honestly, I wasn't really a fan of this polish. The application was border-line awful. Ugh. I'm pretty good at manipulating nail polish but this one was tough! Thick and streaky! It looked a lot better after using Seche Vite though. Thank goodness! I don't think I'll be buying many more yellows. They just don't suit me AND it seems like they are all (no matter the brand) a pain to apply! |
i know what you mean about yellows for sure. however, i just love how they look once they're on the nail *sigh* i guess i'm a glutton for punishment haha. i think this is soooo pretty haha!
Kellie- Haha :) Yah, they look good when all is said and done. It's just soooo much work when I know I'll only wear it for a day or two. I try to stay away from my yellows... funny thing is, everytime I ask my bf what color I should paint my nails next, he ALWAYS says yellow! He just doesn't understand! :)
I love this color! And your pictures of it are really nice.
This would be the perfect yellow for me. No matter how bad it is to apply :)
I like it on you!
I have this and a dupe Sally Hansen makes. I agree...horrible to apply. I think it looks pretty on you.
Same here...yellows are a pain! They dont suit me NOR my cloths ever lol :-)
I really want this polish. I don't care how hard yellows are usually to apply, I just love them.
I don't know if you've tried Lemon Fizz by China Glaze (it's not in your blog archives, that I could find), but on the off chance you haven't... it's a very creamy pastel yellow that isn't too bad to apply! If you're careful you can get away with two coats, and that's my version of careful, which as a nail polish noob is still pretty, um, careless! I'm not much of a yellow girl either, but I quite like it.
The color itsslef is nice, but I agree about the "yellow-application-problem". The only yellow I ever tried which caused no problems was a shimmer one.
I really like yellows on my toe nails - on my fingers they are not THAT great to me.
Loving this yellow. I was not a fan, but I have a few and did a comparison with mine, and just loved it. Yellow is a fav of mine.
i love yellow and it looks perfect on you <3
I feel the same about yellows, hard to apply!
I love this though <3
haha that too bad.. on the zoya..
I find yellows hard to like as well.. but I'm always searching for one that will suit my skin tone.. I think maybe a mustard yellow.. so it's not too harsh..bright/ crazy looking/...or a golden yellow
Now THAT is yellow! LOL Suck about the bad formula...usually Zoya has great formula. I'm not much for yellow either - makes me look sallow.
I think it's a fun color for summer but yellows seem to be challenging. I just got my Zoya haul and ordered Gabrielle thinking it would be this amazing goldish warm glitter and it's ORANGE. Not what I was expecting at all.
I thought the same thing about Pippa until I swatched it. It was the BAM yellow which imo doesn't suit my weird skintone. But your swatch makes it look so nice! :)♥
oooh, this is nice, can see me adding this to my list......
have tagged you for an award sweetie, you can see it here

I really love the colour!
WOW, that's bright and blinding! LOL!
Where can you Zoya besides online? Do any major reatilers sell it?
Thanks for all of the comments guys! Sorry I could not respond to all of you. I had a busy day yesterday...
Danielle- I've never seen Zoyas at any major retailers. I found some at a specialty shop before (don't even remember the name) otherwise I just get them online.
I had the same trouble with Pippa! I was so pissed by the end of the mani! Someone recommended that I put on a good coat of white first, so I will try that next.
