Essie (Fall 2010) - Sew Psyched

Essie 21 comments

Essie "Sew Psyched"

What It Is

Described on Essieshop.com as "A cashmere-soft sage pewter". In my terms: gray-green polish with a miniscule amount of shimmer. Part of the Fall 2010 collection.

Application

Application was a breeze. This was 2 coats. I'm really enjoying my Essie collection (small but growing!). Can't wait for more of their collections in the future!
How do you feel about this color? My mom said "yuck!" when she saw it but I love it!

I really like this one (also it's a dupe of RBL Diddy Mow, which I was beginning to think we'd never see).

That's a great shade! Kinda camo-like. Unique. Love it on you!
And wow, I thought there was no shimmer, even a smallest bit of it!

Great minds must think alike, because I'm wearing Sew Psyched right now and am loving it!! I had hoped there would be just a touch more(?) shimmer. It seemed like it had some shimmer in the bottle. It's def grey-green. A nice fall color. Great job as usual PH

This is the first time I thought I might actually like this color. In all the previous posts, it comes across much more gray. I like the green in it - too bad the shimmer isn't so obvious.

I love love LOVE this polish. The first time I wore it I fell in love.

Plus it makes me laugh because I goto class at my university and this is the exact color of the chalkboards haha!

KarenD- I'm so glad it is a dupe for Diddy Mow! I hate RBL prices and I hate that they take sooooo long to dry! I loved the color but was not planning on ever buying it. Glad I could get the same shade from a different brand :)

    Linda- :)

Daria- The shimmer is barely noticeable! More apparent in the bottle...

Dee- Thanks! Great color indeed! But I agree, a little more shimmer would have been nice!

Megan- Oh its definitely a green! My mom said "baby poop" when she saw it... it's not that yellow though! :) I love this color!

bpddjeoomon- :) I knew it reminded me of something! The color of a chalkboard is right on! LOL

Nihrida- I'm psyched about this color too! But... question: Why did they use "sew" instead of "so" in the name??? What does that have to do with the fall? Now, if it was "sow" and the collection was for the Spring, then that'd make sense to me (ex. sowing crops). Essie confuses me a lot. Or maybe I'm just thinking too hard about it.

:) I love this color. It looks like slate!

It's "sew" instead of "so" because the whole fall collection has garment/fashion themed names: Merino, Velvet, etc. Fall is always the biggest season for fashion with the September issues of all the fashion mags coming out.

I didn't pick up this polish because I already had Diddy Mow, but I LOVE it. I always get compliments when I wear it.

Rachel- I love it too! I wish there were a blue slate polish out there... if there is, I haven't found it :)

Grace- Ahhh. Thanks for clearing that up for me! I'm not big on the fashion world so I had no idea! Learn something new everyday! Seriously. :) Do you have issues with your RBL polishes drying? They take several hours to dry all the way through for me... when I first saw Diddy Mow I REALLY wanted it. I'm glad I have Sew Psyched though. The formula is perfect!

This is one of those polishes where I've loved every swatch I've seen. The pictures make it look interesting and sophisticated and elegant.

So I went to get a bottle. And I looked at it. And I unscrewed the cap and looked at the actual polish. And I tried to picture myself EVER painting that color on my fingernails. And I couldn't. I simply couldn't. So I put the bottle back down and left.

I love your pictures. They look terrific. But I have come to the reluctant conclusion that this polish is not for me.

I love love love gray polishes! I think they look awesome specially on winter (we're in spring here but i use mine anyway). I really need to get some more because i only have one and it's a franken... and some essie polishes too! They're kinda expensive for me but i have my eyes on the mini resort collection.

Sew Psyched is by far my favorite color from that collection. There's something so so chic about it.

It looks awesome on you. I love your nails!
